How’s your faith?

Might we need to change the lens we see the world through?

“Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting...” !

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,
Mary Baker Eddy, p. 392:24–25)

So it we can keep thought focused through knowing God is governing His universe.... not our view of it we feel secure and bring  out pure  clear untainted  experience in our lives because that's what we are sure we want. Remember the old fable?

Which …fable?

..” Be careful what you pray for as you might get it"

"minds many"; the ability, we think we have that we can have an awareness of something like 'pain'; which is un-Godlike.

Are you "seeing red"?

Our character changes what we see.  Our convictions particularly.

The alternative is to get a better sense of what is truth.... Christianity offers a good perspective if you follow the principles.

quotes to go with transparent "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man....

17:58

Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, pp. 476:32–2)

Mrs Eddy emphasises this when defining prayer.....

"Desire  i s  prayer". 18:14

Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 1:11)

So this visual imaging is very important.

Looking through coloured glass is  similar to gazing at life through our own personal "take' on things. Seeing  and knowing things from the perspective of Principle [ another name for Laws of the universe {God}] the end of the lines of this focus become fixed & stable.   Have you heard of the seeing ourselves as anchored in the hub of a wheel.... If a  bike picks up a heavy object on the tyre [at its circumference] the bike becomes unbalanced, wobbly.  The action has to be a balanced partnership.... same with us and God.

Quotes from S&H (button)

Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy. Man is not a material habitation for Soul; he is himself spiritual. Soul, being Spirit, is seen in nothing imperfect nor material.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 476:32)

This passage illustrates that it is possible to do the same with those with whom we come into contact.... he said "Verily, verily, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

(John 14:12)

We are all sculptors, working at various forms, moulding and chiseling thought.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 248:13–15)

The sculptor turns from the marble to his model in order to perfect his conception. We are all sculptors, working at various forms, moulding and chiseling thought.

Q. What is the model before mortal mind?

A. Is it imperfection, joy, sorrow, sin, suffering? Have you accepted the mortal model?

Q. Are you reproducing it?

A. Then you are haunted in your work by vicious sculptors and hideous forms.

Q. Do you not hear from all mankind of the imperfect model?

A. The world is holding it before your gaze continually. The result is that you are liable to follow those lower patterns, limit your life-work, and adopt into your experience the angular outline and deformity of matter models.

To remedy this,

we must first turn our gaze in the right direction, and then walk that way.

We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives.

Let unselfishness, goodness, mercy, justice, health, holiness, love — the kingdom of heaven — reign within us, and sin, disease, and death will diminish until they finally disappear.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 248:29)

“…now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face…”

I Cor 13:12

The alders bend over the streams to shake out their tresses in the water-mirrors; let mortals bow before the creator, and, looking through Love's transparency, behold man in God's own image and likeness, arranging in the beauty of holiness each budding thought.

(Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 330:14–18)

TESTIMONY

When out sailing, I thought how wonderful it was that Mrs. Eddy could see that "As a drop of water is one with the ocean..... so God and man, .....are one in being."

[S&H p 361]. It was so clear to me that we are the essence of true harmonious being.

When someone phoned me saying they were incapacitated by the agony of food poisoning I mentioned my clear perception of this and we hung up. She phoned me back five minutes later saying all the pain had gone. And later in the week I got a letter saying how much this healing had meant to her.
