The precept of hope
Every cloud has a silver lining.
The statement we so often use, “Every cloud has a silver lining”….. refers to a strengthening precept [a general rule intended to regulate behaviour or thought] implying that every problem is outlined by a bright and sure outcome.
This is an empowering and dynamic thought. It turns despair to hope! A positive thought has that capability.
But don’t we want more than just positive thoughts? We’re in a hurry for physical change!
We want to be in that sunshine right now!
Hope changes our thinking so that we then express such qualities as resilience and joy, and we move to a new level, being imbued with God’s brightness and warmth. The appearance of a physical solution soon follows. Difficulties such as hatred dissolve into forgiveness. And when fear disappears our natural ability kicks in so we are calm enough to see that there is an obvious solution. When this way forward becomes apparent we look away from ourselves to what motivates us.
Problems crop up when clarity of thought is needed. So here is a typical healingthought.org message!
“Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action.” p.454 Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
